The Prime Minister, Boris Johnson has come out and given his backing to the ABC hosted COP26 fringe event that is taking place at the Active Building Centre’s Gloucestershire research facility on October the 21st.
Prime Ministerial backing
The PM learnt about the event via the Stroud MP Siobhan Baille, who will be attending the event at the Gloucestershire Science And Technology Park later this month.
In his video Mr Johnson said there was “no better place than the ABC’s site to hold such an event”.
Fully charged & fully booked.
ABC is hosting the event to showcase not only the work of the company since its formation in 2018, but to also support the debate around #netzero and how the construction industry in the UK needs to transform if it is to play its part in helping the UK cut its carbon emissions.
Compering the event will be Robert Llewellyn from Fullycharged who are the main media partner for the event.
Sadly for those wanting tickets, the event is already a sell out. But don’t worry, you won’t miss out. More on that shortly.
Other partners
The event is also being brought in association with the local enterprise partnership – GFirst LEP. Chair of the LEP Ruth Dooley says the conference “promises to provide fascinating discussions and insights on this hugely important topic.”
“COP26 officially means the ‘26th Conference of the Parties’. It could equally stand for ‘Climate Or Perish’ or ‘Change for Our Planet’ as we are reaching the point of no return, unless there is a concerted, coordinated action to reverse global warming.
Also involved in helping to shape as well as stage the event are the University of Gloucestershire’s cyber facility at Berkeley – C11
as well as SGS college and the UTC both based at the Gloucestershire Science And Technology Park.
You won’t miss out
Despite the event selling out with a few weeks to go, if you want to add your name to the reserve list please click here.
Debates and discussions from the day will be published on this website and across social media in the days that follow and during COP Glasgow, so if you are not able to join us at our Berkeley HQ on the 21.10.21, you can still find out what is discussed.
